ADMISSIONS

The Pre-School is registered for 26 places per day.

CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION

Application forms are available from the Pre-School and the Education Authority – www.eani.org.uk

FUNDED PLACES.

The Group has been awarded 26 funded places under the Pre-School Education Expansion Programme and is in receipt of funding from the Department of Education. Under this programme children receiving funded places must attend five days per week.

CRITERIA FOR FUNDED PLACES.

In order to qualify for funded places children must be in their Pre-School year.  In the event of there being more applications than places the following criteria will be applied.

1  Children from socially disadvantaged circumstances who were born between 2 July 2015 and 1 July 2016

(b) Children born between 2 July 2015 and 1 July 2016

Note:  Children from ‘socially disadvantaged circumstances’ means a child whose parent is in receipt of (i) Income support, or (ii) Income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance, or (iii) an award of Income Support which as been converted into an Employment and Support allowance and the level of benefit remains the same, or (iv) Universal Credit.  When parents apply for places for their child on this basis they must have their Benefit Verification stamped by the Social Security/Jobs and Benefits Office to confirm that they are in receipt of a qualifying payment.  This should then be sent by the parent directly to the provider of first preference.

Sub-criteria

In the event of oversubscription in any of the above criteria, children will be admitted in accordance with the following sub-criteria, in the order stated:

(a) Children who are already attending (non-funded);

(b) Those who have listed us as their first preference;

(c) Children with special medial or social needs;

(d) Children living closest to Play-a-Way as measured by driving distance using Google maps.

Selection for any places remaining will be on the basis of the initial letter(s) of the surname, with pupils being selected in the order set out below.  The order was determined by a randomised selection of letters:

G Z F N I K H A S B U P Mac E T V R D Q J M X L C Mc Y W O

In the event of surnames beginning with the same initial letter the subsequent letters of the surnames will be used in alphabetical order.  In the event of two identical surnames the alphabetical order of the letters of the first forenames appearing on the application will be used.

Duty to Verify

The Management Committee reserves the right to require such supplementary evidence as it may determine to support or verify information on any application form.

If the requested evidence is not provided to the Management Committee by the deadline given, this will result in the withdrawal of an offer of a place.  Similarly, if information is supplied which appears to be false or misleading an any material way, the offer of a place will be withdrawn.

Waiting List Policy

The Waiting List Policy is available directly from the Pre-School.

FEES FOR NON FUNDED PLACES

Please contact the Office for our Fees.  Accounts are monthly and must be paid within the first week – preferred method of payment would be a transfer to our Bank Account (details provided), however cash or cheque is also acceptable.  If arrears are accrued there will be a £10 late payment fee added each week and if this is not settled immediately your child’s place will be offered to the next child on the waiting list. Fees are due even if your child is absent as overheads still need to be met. Fees are not charged for any days the group is closed.
